Book Club
The book club in Pastoral centre has been running for over 8years.
We meet up monthly on a Tuesday morning in the coffee dock for a cuppa and chat about the chosen book.
Books are chosen by a different member each month and we cover mostly contemporary fiction.
It’s all very relaxed & informal. Our numbers vary from 4 to 14 depending on who can come along.
We chose 2 books in June to cover July/ August .
New members always welcome.

Legion of Mary
Meets weekly, Tuesdays @ 20.00. We do a range of works within the parish and also assist legion’s hostels for homeless men and women.

All are welcome, previous choir experience not required. We sing at mass on Sunday at 10.45.

Pastoral Patchwork
fortnightly Friday, 09:30 - 12:00, Room 3

The Pastoral Patchwork Group had its first meeting in Autumn 2022.
It was decided that as a group, we would sew and sell our products to raise funds for the Pastoral Centre.

We are a group of 8 people who like to sew; some members are experienced in Patchwork and quilting, while others are beginners. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where we share ideas, learn and help one another.

We completed our first quilt in Autumn 2023, which was raffled in February 2024. We will soon complete our second quilt.

Bethany Bereavement Support Group

The Bethany Bereavement Support Group is a voluntary community based service. Our objective is to support the bereaved through the grieving process and our services are totally free of charge and confidential within the law.

Grieving is a natural process and is normally helped by the support and understanding of family and friends. Sometimes a bereaved person may need the support of a skilled person to help them journey through their loss in a positive way.

Bethany volunteers have completed the Bethany training course in bereavement support. We listen with understanding and empathy and accept those suffering loss as they are.
